Lend a Hand Projects
We first identify a community that has a particular need: they have endured a hard freeze, their water supply is compromised, or they have lost homes and buildings due to heavy rains and flooding. We then purchase the supplies from local vendors in the city, which helps to stimulate and sustain the local economy, and then get the supplies out to the remote community.
This program also helps individuals as needed, such as children that need some new shoes, or an elderly person that could use some medicine, or by providing solar lights to children that have limited energy sources to do homework at night.
We have helped more than 1,200 people in various villages over the past 4 years with only a few thousand dollars and the help of a couple dozen volunteers. We are eager to do more.
